I believe that Ray Bradbury chose “The Hearth & The Salamander” as a title because it is probably related to the character , Guy Montag & how he or his job creates fires instead of putting them out. The assumptions as a reader , can make the protagonist think they enjoy to burn their stuff or anything really & how the burning changes to ashes The imagery is negative , because the firehose is giving out acid like a “python” that is a venomous snake. F451 is a title of the book but 451 is the temperature that causes books to burn.
